Schools such as BCIT and VCC have been continuously providing talent to various businesses all over Canada for decades. VictorEric has acquired some of our talent from these institutions.  Some of our staff have even taught some of the classes at these fine institutions. Last Tuesday, VCC sent some of their students to come visit our firm and to get a glimpse of what its like working in the industry.

Members of the management team gave the students a brief tour of our office space as well as short introduction to our integration process. By understanding how design and construction are interrelated, students can have a clearer vision of how designs should be illustrated for practical application and what a day in the life of their targeted career looks like.

Sure enough, each student had different expectations of what a Design-Build firm should be like, and we were glad, that as a reputable firm in the industry, we are able to resolve some of the mystery.

In addition to this outreach program, Design Lead and Owner, Eric Lee mentors design students and up and coming designers to help them avoid the mistakes he made in his early days.  Last week we were honoured with a write up in an American magazine, Modern Builder + Design (mbd-magazine.com).  On news stands now, you can read about what the Editor called Design Build Honesty.

As many of you know, Habitat for Humanity is another one of VictorEric’s favourite charities.  Due to delays the charity has faced trying to get a building permit from the City of Richmond, our participation in building homes for locals in need has been delayed until August.  We are excited and grateful to announce that one of our suppliers of premium construction project scheduling and budget tracking technology, Co-Construct has donated $500 to this project!  Thank you to Tom Syre of Co-Construct for supporting this wonderful charity!

This year Eric has personally undertaken to support local children, not just by signing up as a Big Brother with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, but he is co-founding a charity benefiting local children.   The Love 4 Kids is a non-profit organization that is created to positively affect the lives of elementary school aged children.  We want to nurture a strong developmental foundation so that kids can grow to be healthy adults who positively contribute to our society.  We foster a fun and loving environment through Education, Mentoring and providing a community of role models.

Building beautiful homes is meaningless unless we do our part to build a strong community.  Keep checking our page to see what community events we are sponsoring each month.
