Site Assistant


ROLE OVERVIEW: The Site Assistant assists the Site Supervisor in managing construction sites.


REPORTING:      This position reports to the Construction Manager



  • Responsible for daily opening and locking up of construction sites
  • Perform general on-site tasks as directed by Site Supervisor or Construction Manager
  • Perform manual and/or skilled labour as directed by Site Supervisor or Construction Manager
  • Assist Site Supervisor in overseeing trades on site
  • Identify required next step tasks
  • Take daily phone calls and report on site conditions in Co-Construct
  • Provide daily update on site progress and upcoming tasks as required
  • Attend site visits and site meetings
  • Observe and maintain construction quality control, resolve construction issues that arise or escalate to the Site Supervisor or Construction Manager
  • Liaise with clients when they are on site
  • Meet with consultants and inspectors on site
  • Assist in daily coordination of tasks between Project Coordinator and trades/sub-contractors
  • Schedule and receive on site deliveries, pick up supplies when necessary and turn in delivery slips into office
  • Perform general tasks and hands-on labour as required to avoid construction delays
  • Ensure construction sites are kept clean



  • Report hours worked – manage personal time sheet of activities
  • Update status on TimeLive
  • Attend Construction team meetings
  • Complete daily site log on Co-Construct



  • Provide input to content for company newsletter and blog
  • Maintain construction quality standards
  • Support and maintain company objectives
  • Promote company culture
  • Participate in company events and programs


  • Some knowledge of trade skills (framing, drywall, or finishing skills preferred)
  • Self starter and problem solving abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership qualities an asset
  • Knowledge of a 2nd language (other than English) would be an asset (Chinese preferred)
  • 1 year construction site experience preferred
  • Grade 12 graduation diploma required, additional trade or vocational education preferred
