The site was large and the client wanted a grand home in a modern context. We chose a west coast modern aesthetic with a large robust port-a-cochere. The wide house set on a heavy stone clad main floor gives it a sense of permanence from the street.

The front entry had to have a presence to match the exterior of the house. We created a double volume space over the foyer and added a large skylight to filter in natural light. The stairwell is kept open to all three floors to continue the grand & spacious feeling.
