VictorEric Office

Project Description

Location: 15 East 3rd Avenue, Vancouver Scope of Work: Interior Design, Construction Mangement, Business Identity Interested in working with VictorEric? Want to see more of our work? In this office, we wanted to make sure that we had an open space where all three departments can easily collaborate and have open communications with each other. The existing layout was chopped up with internal offices and did not lend itself to the open plan that the client needed. The existing T-bar ceiling and linoleum floors also will not give us that creative designer setting. We felt the only way we can make it home was to completely gut the space and start fresh. We removed the t-bar ceiling and exposed the beautiful large timber beams and decking. Because there were buildings at zero clearance on both sides, we added 5 large skylights to bring in much needed natural light. These were especially important in the workstations and the sample tables where correct colour rendering was important. As a design and construction company, we had to make sure that our office “looked the part”. The reception and front meeting rooms were important to reflect the high end homes that we designed. We wanted to keep it modern and used a beautiful Carrera white mitred slab reception front to express the premium feeling. We added a warm natural wood wall as a feature to the otherwise white and simple palette. The two meeting rooms reflected the two different extremes in our design styles; traditional and modern. The smaller room took on a vintage look with a beautiful reclaimed wood table from restoration hardware, industrial cage lights, and an oversized vintage look galvanized pendant. The large meeting room was kept modern and minimal with a glossy white floating credenza on a wood wall backdrop. Large chrome pendant lights accent the boardroom table with white Eames padded task chairs. We felt the exterior concrete block warehouse also needed to be upgraded. We added cedar wood slats which transition to be sunshades (for the southern sun) at the window openings. We also put in new landscaping with an Asian design influence with a cherry grove of trees , moss groundcover and bamboo at the front door.
