The site is an urban lot but does not have a rear alley. Instead, it has large evergreen trees which provide a privacy buffer to the neighbours. It really has a rural neighbourhood feeling. The foyer of the home is traditional, serving as the transition between the French country exterior to the interior. Carefully balancing between traditional aesthetics and modern style, we took the traditional French country exterior and continued that inside the foyer. From there, you are greeted with a beautiful staircase, glowing with a cluster of random globe pendant lights.
